Supposed to be a nice 40th treat

Some friends of mine had kindly booked a spa day for me for my 40th birthday. We arrived at 9.10am to be told upon arrival that the jacuzzi was out of order. We were really quite disappointed by this. No offer of a drink or snacks or where to get them if wanted. We didn't have a drink hot/cold for the duration. The changing rooms weren't very clean. Considering it was early in the day the shower area was vile. The smell of urine was strong. We continued through the pool area. Walking past the broken jacuzzi. No sense of warmth or luxury. The floors were very slippy. The robes were ridiculously small. After about 20 minutes in the pool area , the pool was closed off. We asked why and what was happening. To be told it was mother and toddler time. We were very shocked at this. We've paid to have nice relaxing day at a spa while our own children are at school. And now we are having to share the pool with a group of parents and children. We were actually flabbergasted. Had this been explained in the booking I can assure you we would not have booked at this property. We left and went into the spa part. Not feeling comfortable or relaxed with babies and young children in the pool. It was soon time for 2 of us to have our treatments. I had a massage and it was phenomenol. The blonde lady was very strong and worked on all parts if my body. It was wonderful. We left to get showered and dressed for afternoon tea. Again the changing rooms stunk of urine. I didn't even shower it felt dirty. I just got dressed and left. I went to the bar area and was greeted by a man called Chris. His customer skills were less than desirable. I asked how much a bottle of prosecco was. He told me, I then asked him how much for the single ones. He huffed and puffed back around the bar to get one to scan. He was rude. There was a lady being served infront of me. He was getting quite cross because he wanted the information printed out. Where as it doesn't state in the booking that it must be a paper copy. Anyway we finally moved on to be seating in a beautiful room. He asked the previous lady if there were any allergies. We were not asked this. I have an allergy to fish . My friend only eats cheese. I had to raise the issue about allergies. He wasn't happy, he said they are already pre made. Just really rather rude. Not only to us as a group but also to a couple next to us. Overall the food was OK. Cakey bits were good. Sandwiches weren't great. Anyway on a whole it really wasn't relaxing, calm. It was quite medioca. We would not return.

Customer service at its best . Excellent facilities and room airy spacious and spotless. Grounds were immaculate. Breakfast and meals very nice . Breakfast and bar service was great .Bar prices very reasonable . We all sat out listening to live music .

Not what we were expecting but 5* customer service

We booked here for our wedding anniversary and before I begin I’d like to say although it wasn’t what we were expecting at all, the staff were amazing. They were attentive and offered us a full refund. The manager on site even offered to try and get us into a different hotel as this one was full. However for a hotel of its kind it was a real let down the room we were in 14 Prestige which we had paid over £200 for the night was tired and well used. The bed was the worst offender it was broken of its feet and the next morning when my hubby woke at 2am in pain and pulled the mattress protector back it was shocking, to be fair if we’d of looked the night before we would of left. It was filthy and wearing through to the springs. The bathroom was also a let down it was dirty, the tiles were broken by the toilet and the shower was dangerous to get in and out of. As I said had we seen the state of the mattress the night before we would have left but we only called the management up to have a look at the broken bed and the broken tiles. I have put pictures on. The food that we had as room service was lovely (Expensive) but lovely and the breakfast was very nice too. We didn’t use the facilities as the hotel was full and their was a wedding on so the pool was over crowded so we gave it a miss, a shame really as that was one of the selling points when booking.

Very disappointed

Very grand grounds. Staff on arrival not very friendly or happy. Our room felt very claustrophobic sash windows unable to stay open. Small bedroom. Large bathroom. Confetti, cobwebs and dust in room. Shower gel completely empty, first evening asked for refill while we ate in bar- didn’t arrive. Asked after breakfast next day and was given a lame excuse of we were waiting for you to go back to your room!- they then passed us a bottle of shower gel. Shower door and surround filthy- see pics. Showed reception- they came up with cleaner who tried to say it couldn’t be cleaned - yet dirt came away on my finger. Cleaners came a gave shower a clean which was then acceptable. All just a bit tired and could do with a bit of tlc. First nite bar (which doesn’t have a great menu) ran out of burgers at 830. We were overcharged on drinks- but once we spoke to Ryan he sorted it all out promptly. ( best staff member there by far!) breakfast was a little chaotic, hot food was plentiful, yet pastries were thin on the ground- (even heard staff counting how many guests were left for breakfast so they could count out how many to replenish! Fresh bread area- needs work! Two small (panini size) bread rolls, I asked for more and staff member came out with one more. Next morning- no fresh bread- upon asking I was told I’d have to wait 15 mins for chef to bake it- it never came out. Cups ran out when asked my husband was told to drink out of some two handles mugs. Everything seemed to be skimpy, even the milk you had to pour by the serving area. The changing rooms were lovely in pool area- yet jacuzzi not working and we were not informed. When questioned at reception they said they didn’t know! Can’t comment on spa as they were fully booked and couldn’t fit us in. We did make reception aware of all these issues and they did give us a discount which was appreciated but I would not recommend or come back. Extremely disappointed

I have been informed about the issues in your room and, as you mentioned, this were promptly addressed and rectified; unfortunately as were extremely busy on the night of your stay we had ran out of burger at the end of service (our last order is at 8.45pm). I am also very disappointed to read that you did not appreciate our breakfast offerings; please rest assured that your feedback has been passed onto our kitchen team for further investigations and actions to ensure that our standards are consistent. Myself and my partner are currently researching and trying out various hotels and locations for our planned wedding in 2026. As the hotel is set in gorgeous grounds and a lovely looking building we were both very excited and hopeful that the Albrighton would prove a high contender for this...how wrong we were!!! As we arrived, to our surprise there was a wedding on so what a great way to assess the venue for our wedding. We heard a group of wedding guests slating the service at the wedding breakfast stating the bad attitude of some staff and the unprofessional attitude when things went wrong! We couldn't quite grasp what actually went wrong but we tried to keep an open mind even though a little disappointed at over hearing this. Then we went for dinner, lovely restaurant setting, food tasted great! The restaurant wasn't busy at the time we dined only about six tables of couples mainly and four waiting on staff. The problem here and the one reason we won't be returning is the total incompetence and attitude of the restaurant staff!! Kelvin took our order. Its a la carte so you get your main then you order extras like chips etc. I ordered pork belly as did my partner and then we ordered the extras to go with our pork belly, one of which were chips! Pork belly came, my partner started to eat his but I waited for the extras. Few minutes passed but no other food came so had to ask the waiter who took the order. He apologised for forgetting and said he would see to it straight away. My partner had finished his meal by the time the rest of the food came and mine was cold so had to be reheated. We weren't happy especially as the food was expensive anyway which i wouldnt of minded had it flowed ok! I spoke to the restaurant manager Alex who did not apologise as such but stated to me he would deduct the price of a bowl of chips!!! I calmly replied that I thought he should consider deducting alot more than that to which he answered just a simple 'NO' as he was looking at his till screen. Didn't even look at me or even say ' I'm sorry sir but we cannot do that'...just a harsh and straight NO!! And that was it.. he asked me to sign the receipt with our room number then we left the restaurant with no real apology!! Left us feeling disgusted, very disappointed and one less venue on our wedding venue list! Room: 4/5 | Service: 1/5 | Location: 5/5

It is somehow very surprising to read your restaurant feedback as we strive, as a team, to continuously and constantly meet our Guest's expectation. We, as a team, sometimes make genuine human's mistakes, in your specific case, a bowl of triple cooked chips was somehow forgotten to be placed on the order, this was promptly resolved when you mentioned it. As a team, we try to rectify whenever errors are made to ensure these genuine human errors are not severely impacting our Guest's stay. I am very sorry to read that you felt that the bowl of chips which was presented to you few minutes after your main course was served has impacted your evening dinner, as you mentioned Alex had apologized and taken this item off the bill. Please rest assured that it was not our intention to disappoint you by presenting you the bill for the food which you and your partner had consumed in our restaurant, however since no further comments were made regarding the dishes which were consumed the invoice was presented to you for signature, since you had wished to be transferred to your room's account.
